Drake hosted a celebrity softball game for Houston Appreciation Weekend yesterday to benefit the Astros Urban Youth Academy. Across the pond, Pharrell, Chris Brown, Quincy Brown, Chanel Iman, A$AP Rocky and more attended the DOPE screening at the 2015 Cannes Film Festival. More inside….
Drake jetted to Houston to host his second annual Houston Appreciation Weekend (H.A.W.) to show love to the city where it started. Drizzy hit the field for a celebrity softball game with the Houston Astros at the University of Houston Cougar Field to benefit the Astros Urban Youth Academy. This is just one of many events coming to the area because the Young Money rapper has a host of events (concerts, parties) lined up for the city this Memorial Day Weekend.
Houston holds a special place in the Grammy Award winning artist’s heart as H-Town is the place where he started building his rap empire with the help of UGK rapper Bun B.
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. left his football gear behind to ball out on the baseball field.
Christina Milian's ex-fiance and Houston-based Rap-a-Lot Records CEO Jas Prince showed his support.
After hosting an event Thursday evening to honor Bun B, Drizzy grabbed his #24 baseball jersey and baseball glove for some fun in the outfield yesterday.
In the dugout....
Fashionista Angela Simmons and friend/stylist Kanayo Ebi posed for pics while watching the game.
R&B crooner Ne-Yo also came out to support. Fun times.
Meanwhile, across the pond....
Chris Brown hit up the DOPE screening at the Cannes Film Festival to support his homie Quincy Brown, who stars in the coming-of-age comedy.
After attending the DOPE photocall on the beach a day earlier, executive producer Pharrell Williams, stars Zoe Karvitz and A$AP Rocky came out for the screening. The trio stopped to snap a selfie for the ‘gram.
Then, Zoe and the guys posed it up with DOPE actress Kiersey Clemons.
Ex-lovers Chanel Iman and A$AP Rocky (still keeping a comfortable distance) were also at the screening yesterday. They snapped it up with DOPE actors Shameik Moore and Tony Revolori.
We're less than a month away! DOPE hits theaters June 19th.
After the screening, P was spotted holding hands with his wife Helen Lasichanhhis as they made their rounds in Cannes. Fun times.
