Halle Berry took her baby daddy to court after he straightened Nahla's hair and gave her highlights - accusing him of attempted "whitewash"! More inside....
If you're a fan of Halle Berry, you know she's always claimed her Black side. She's bi-racial, but she's always been clear that she identifies as a Black woman. So that may explain her anger, when Gabriel Aubry, the father of their 6-year-old daughter Nahla, returned her home (they share custody) with highlights and straight hair. Did he go a little too far with the Soft & Beautiful Just For Me no-lye relaxer?
According to a report filed by TMZ, the issue of Nahla's highlights and bone straight hair (her "natural" hair is curly) was a HOT topic at family court this morning. In fact, Halle's lawyer Steve Kolodny (Halle didn't attend the proceeding) argued back and forth with Gabe about Nahla's hair. According to Halle's lawyer, she is convinced that Gabe wants Nahla to "appear" white and less Black.
SIDEBAR: During the heat of their original custody battle, you'll recall that Halle accused Gabe of using the N-word. That might be unrelated...or maybe it isn't.
In the end, the judge ruled that NEITHER Halle nor Gabe could change Nahla's look from its natural state. Team Natural - 1, Daddy Gabe - 0!
