Last night, Washington D.C. was poppin’ with pre-parties ahead of the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner, set to go down this evening. Peep the party pics of Tracee Ellis Ross, John Legend, Laverne Cox, Tamron Hall and many more inside….
Washington D.C. was surely the place to be last night as there were many parties and events going on around the city ahead of the White House Correspondents' Association Dinner (aka "Nerd Prom"), which goes down tonight. Many YBF folks were on the party scene, popping up at multiple events.
“black•ish” star Tracee Ellis Ross was among one of the guests at Time and People’s annual cocktail party for the White House Correspondents' Weekend at St Regis Hotel in D.C. Looks like Tracee left T-Murda at home for the night’s festivities. Ha! She posed it up alongside Oprah’s bestie Gayle King.
Gayle also posed it up alongside her daughter/"Let's Move" staffer Kirby Bumpus. The mother-daughter duo looked amazing.
“State of Affairs” actress Alfre Woodard looked gorgeous last night as she came out to party it up. In the NBC series “State of Affiars,” the 62-year-old actress stars as President Constance Payton, a female commander in chief. Loves it.
“TODAY” show and “News Nation” co-host Tamron Hall had a super busy night as she hit up multiple events. Tamron kept it classy in a strapless floral dress and sandals for the evening festivities.
She caught up with Tracee, who was recently revealed in PEOPLE's Most Beautiful issue, for a gorgeous shot.
“black•ish” star Anthony Anderson and “black•ish” creator Kenya Barris laughed it up over a few drinks.
“Orange is the New Black” breakout star Laverne Cox turned heads in a custom gold Open Ceremony mini dress. She caught up with "Modern Family" star Jesse Tyler Ferguson.
Veteran Democratic political strategist Donna Brazile and co-founder/CEO of Airbnb Brian Chesky were all smiles.
At another event....
R&B crooner John Legend kicked off White House Correspondents' weekend at Longview Gallery for “An Evening With John Legend,” hosted by POLITICO. On the carpet, he snapped it up with former U.S. Attorney General Eric Holder and his wife Dr. Sharon Malone.
Yesterday was bitter sweet for Mr. Holder as he held his final meeting with senior staffers Friday morning, after running the Justice Department for over six years.
Human rights activist Malika Saada Saar, founder and executive director of the Equal Justice Initiative Bryan Stevenson, Director of the White House Domestic Policy Council Cecilia Munoz, civil rights advocate Michelle Alexander, and POLITICO chief White House correspondent Mike Allen joined the “All of Me” singer on stage.
Mr. Holder and his wife was spotted looking on in the audience.
"black•ish" couple Anthony Anderson and Tracee Ellis Ross were also in the mix.
And the Oscar winner took the stage to perform. Nice!
Elsewhere....
Tracee finished her rounds at The New Yorker's White House Correspondents' Dinner Weekend pre-party at the W Hotel Rooftop.
Alfre Woodard was all smiles with her husband/producer Roderick Spencer.
Emmy nominated actress Laverne Cox, who recently posed nude in a pictorial for ALLURE magazine, was also heavy on the scene.
And Tamoron Hall stopped by to party it up for a few.
At another party....
Sliding to yet another event, Tamron Hall posed it up on the carpet at the The Hill, Extra and The Embassy Of Canada to celebrate at their White House Correspondents' Dinner Weekend pre-party held at the Embassy of Canada in D.C.
New York Jets wide receiver Brandon Marshall (who was recently traded from the Chicago bears) and his wife Michi Marshall (who once made headlines for allegedly stabbing Brandon) came out to party.
"EXTRA" correspondent AJ Calloway was in the mix.
CNN anchor Don Lemon and journalist Michelle Kosinski hit the carpet also.
And at another event...
Author/professor Michael Eric Dyson and Tamron Hall hit the carpet at the 6th annual Voto Latino "Our Voices: Celebrating Diversity In Media" held at The Hay-Adams Hotel in D.C.
And TV host Joy-Ann Reid was also in attendance. Fab events!
