A Japanese university that celebrates graduation in a magical way (37 Photos)

The annual graduation at Kyoto City University of Arts graduation this year looks a great deal more like an epic Cosplay event than a formal celebration. But believe it or not, this is the norm for this school. It works a great deal like traditional ceremonies except that in order to receive your degree from the university president you have to dress up in costume, any costume, before being handed your prize. I think normally I'm quick to call out Japan for its off-the-wall antics and bizarre culture, however, I think this idea looks like fun. I mean it is a celebration after all, and this might actually make showing up worth your time.
