United Kingdom Granted Wide Release of "The Interview"

After plenty of controversy in the United States, Sony decided to get the ball rolling and set a wide release for "The Interview" in the United Kingdom. Earlier today (January 7), the Seth Rogen/ James Franco flick is slated to hit theaters in Great Britain and Ireland on February 6.

Sony dealt with plenty of criticism from Hollywood, fans and even President Barack Obama after it decided to halt release in the States due to the hacking scandal and threats from North Korea. The film still hasn't had its wide release in America, but it did hit VOD and small theaters late last month.

The production company's decision to release it paid off financially, earning $31 million digitally and $5 million theatrically.
