Ludacris and Tyrese are on the promo circuit for their new action film Furious 7. This morning, the two hit up “The Breakfast Club” to chat about the film and dropped a few nuggets in the process. Luda reveals he was sleeping with Drake’s girl back in the day, he talks about getting custody of his daughter Cai Bella and his friend Paul Walker. Meanwhile, Tyrese reveals he was suppose to star on the first season of “Empire.” Get the deets inside…
Ludacris dropped in on Power 105’s The Breakfast Club this morning to chop it up about his new action crime thriller Furious 7 (April 3rd) and his new album Ludaversal (March 31st).
While chatting with the radio hosts about his new projects, the beef he had with Drake was brought up and he didn’t hold anything back. He revealed he and Drake had a little feud going on (complete with diss records), but the two have since squashed their beef.
So what was the issue? Apparently, Luda was smashing one of Drake’s chicks in Toronto back in the day! BUT, Luda claims he had no idea that the chick he was messing around with was Drizzy’s girl. Bloop! Looks like the tables were turned in that situation because we all know how Drizzy gets down when it comes to stealing/sleeping with another man’s chick. (Get the deets on Drizzy supposedly smashing one of Lil Wayne’s chicks HERE.)
The proud dad also touched on getting primary physical custody of his daughter Cai Bella, the baby he made with a woman named Tamika Fuller while on a “break” with his now pregnant wife Eudoxiee. He said he’s not perfect and Cai is a blessing in his life.
He also spoke on how upset he got during the taping of Comedy Central's Justin Bieber roast where one comedian (Pete Davidson) took it too far and made jokes about his friend/co-star Paul Walker, who passed away in 2013 in a car crash.
Oh…and we also have a SPOILER ALERT! Stop reading now if you don’t want to read this nugget about Furuious 7. Luda revealed Paul Walker does NOT die in the movie and the creative way they showcased him in the movie will have you in tears.
Below are the highlights:
On the beef he had with Drake:
“Me and Drake had our thing, but he came to me and apologized to me like a man. I know everyone wants to write Drake off as that dude, but we aight.“On SMASHING Drake's girl:
Luda was asked about the line in Drizzy's song "How Bout Now" when he said his girl would rather listen to Ludacris than him. He responded, “I think it’s a little bit of a true story behind that. His girl at the time was probably doing a little bit more than that. It’s a true story and I think that’s why he said that. There was a chick in Toronto and at the time I didn’t even know …I didn’t know what was going on. I did not know. I do remember that time in the period of my life.”On why he and Drake had "beef":
“He had said some things in public, but then apologized privately. And I was like ‘well you need to apologize in public just like you said it in public.’ That was the issue I had with him. It’s about respect. You can’t go and do something publicly and come quietly and say I’m sorry. The same format you put it out on, that’s the same format you need to continue on.”On getting physical custody of his daughter Cai Bella (with Tamika Fuller):
“I’m not perfect, however, everything that I’m going through is perfect for me. And it’s made me a better person, a better man and what’s to come, is going to be the absolute best thing to ever happen. And it already has happened because a blessing came out of it. I can’t necessarily talk specifics because anything I say can and will be used against in a court of law because there is still current litigation going on. At the end of the day, it’s the best thing that has ever happened to me in my entire life.”On a comedian making jokes about Paul Walker at the Comedy Central Justin Bieber roast:
“I wouldn’t even repeat those jokes because of how disrespectful I feel they were, but I was definitely upset about that. I was to the point where I was about to go a little crazy and then all of a sudden all of the executives and producers lined up and apologized and assured me they were going to take those jokes out.”

Tyrese also stopped by The Breakfast Club to chop it up about Furious 7. But, he also revealed he was suppose to star on the hit FOX hip hopera “Empire.” So what happened? He said he was unable to film for the show because he was going through a custody battle over his daughter 7-year-old daughter Shayla. He spilled,
“I was suppose to do season 1 of Empire. I was in and out of court fighting over my little angel (Shayla) and I just landed 50/50 joint & legal custody. So I had to break the news to Lee (Daniels) and Taraji (Henson) that I just couldn’t make it. I could not go to Chicago for 3-4 weeks at a time to shoot it when they hit me up. So, we’ll see what happens next season.
Black Ty also talked shared his views on ethnicity taking over television, Damon Dash’s comments about the working class, his last solo album, his singing group with Tank and Ginuwine and more. Check it above.
